Who needs Footcare?

There are many situations when you might need to see a footcare nurse.

Immediate care if nails are overgrown and feet are uncomfortable. Clients may be having trouble wearing shoes or walking comfortably.

Restorative care to treat a foot problem like corns, calluses or reoccurring ingrown nails.

Maintenance care with the goal to keep feet healthy.  This is especially important for diabetics and the elderly as they can experience changes in their sensation or skin breakdowns.

A footcare visit might be necessary simply because a client is unable to care for their own feet as they once did because of changes to their eyesight or flexibility.

Sessions may include:
  • Nail trimming & filing
  • Thinning of thickened nails
  • Management of corns &  calluses
  • Care of fungal nails & most ingrown nails
  • Skin cleanse & moisturize
  • Massage of lower legs and feet
  • Footcare info and education as needed
  • Maintenance of foot health and client mobility
